O.O My first job to 75 was Corsair, and on my Elvaan male. (I had three characters 
). What server were you on? I was on Caitsith. I still miss FFXI from time to time, I really loved the quality of the graphics and such, and I think SE is tops for implementing storyline with their quests and missions (not just FFXI but all their games). Even still, when I think about endless party searches to get ANYthing done...even the "solo" jobs that can't really solo without mountains of gil. Never once have I had to "farm" in WoW or wished that gold-buying was legal.

LOL That's awesome. I <3 corsair SOO much..Hell if Blizzard one day decided to come up with a class that uses cards and shit to buff themselves, I'd be on that in a second lol. I was on Midgsormr (Omg, I can't remember the spelling for the life of me)..Never got a character to 75 though...When it first came out, i started playing it and had an Elvaan Male Monk..only got him to 61 before Wow came out. lol
Started playing wow....but then stopped cause I missed FFXI to much and thats when I started the Cor. lol..but in the end, Wow won again _o_ lol. But yes, I loved the graphics in the game too. And the music. I think the music is what I miss the MOST. Omg, I could spend all day in the Sanctuary of Zi'Tah just to hear the music lol. Oh and btw I also made a picture of my FFXI character *cackles* here --> [link] It's old as the hills now though lol... My fiance also played and he had a BLU...>.> Did a sketch of him learning blank stare too, cause it took him like 2 days to get it lol. --> [link]
But yeah...I miss it too, but then remember that it wasn't worth it in the end >.< lol . Yay! I'm glad I found another person who has played them both

! I know! I usually encounter people who are either hardcore FFXI or WoW and all like, "NO, I have never tried the other, I don't need too because I KNOW it sucks! Bwah!"
My first char was an Elvaan red mage that I got to about 30, then took a hiatus from the game in general (my then-boyfriend now-husband and I originally shared an account before we broke down and got a second ). When I came back to it I still had my Elvaan character but made a Hume girl to be a black mage, which I got to about 60 and then got bored of. By that time I'd already made my male Elvaan as a mule, so I just started leveling his thief, then ninja and ranger, so when I heard about corsair coming out with TAU, he was kind of set to go for it. 
And yeah, it ended up being my favorite job.
LOL my husband played a blue mage also! He had an Elvaan male dark knight and a Hume female blue mage, he has a couple sketches up in his gallery at ~Rya-kun of both of them along with my corsair. Funnily enough, your fiance's char has the same face as my husband's.
I love the pics by the way!
