actually liked that VOY had a holo character as part of the main cast, as TNG touched on the issue of hologram 'realness' with characters like moriarty. i just liked how the doctor started off as a basic computer program with no real ambition, or personality, but through the series kind of became a 'real person' so to speak.
Yeah, I liked the idea, as a component of the show, but I just stopped liking it when it became clear that he was the only interesting character on the show and the writers started writing the show that way.
