Yeah, the US is a little stronger militarily in some regards. But unlike in WW2 they have more potential enemies to guard against, meaning that all their efforts wouldn't be directed against one or two enemies.
But the US does have good ties with the USGA (part of the explaination I forgot to include in the text -_- ), and decent relations with Imperial Germany.
But they face a fascist CSA, an angry Canada, and the growing power of Imperial Japan, although the later is very close to the US politically and economically as the US doesn't have any holdings in the Pacific (the Phillipines are still Spanish, Japan has Hawaii), who relies upon American steel and Texas oil to keep their economy and military going.
