Um... I'm... sorry?

I cry when I imagine Brett playing Holmes... but that's a question of personal taste ;)

Yeah, I have a friend in 'real life' who doesn't like him too. Personally, I think he really plays it as 'Holmes, just lept off the pages of the books', but that's also just a personal preference! :D Who do you prefer in role?

I like Downey, but I almost like Livanov better (from the Russian series, it's on youtube, if you want to have a look, oh, and don't forget Vitaly Solomin, he's the cutest Watson ever).

What it all comes down to is that a movie is always someone else's vision, not your own. So there's no perfect movie, but I really like all the different versions of "book" Holmes that you get to see here on DA.

Mmhmm, RDJ did a very good job. Oh! I love Vasily Livanov! He's so... Holmesish! :D And yes, Vitaly Solomin is so grumpy looking sometimes, it's so cute. :3 I haven't seen all of those (last I checked, I'd seen all they had on Youtube, but I haven't checked lately) but what I've seen, they're splendid.

That's an extremely good point, and one I've been thinking about a lot, particularly, in a sort of unrelated note, when it comes to versions of Hamlet. I love a lot of versions, but there's always something missing, a lot like with Sherlock Holmes adaptations. Yeah, I love seeing the many varied versions of Holmes on here, people are so creative. (Also, it's great how different the many Watsons are, as he's never described beyond having a mustache in canon.)
