You're right. The "Kill all arabs / muslims because they hate Americans and all are clamoring to blow themselves up for Allah" ideology is absolutely moronic. Islam is NOT a naturally violent religion. I am shocked how deep-rooted this prejudice is. It's sad.
I would say to those in the opposite spectrum that think we are all war-mongers that live in the lap of luxury though that, just like muslims having a spectrum of extremity, Americans are also not all evil. There is greed, and corruption, but that is inherent in any country. People are generally good, and it's not like being born in America predisposes you to want to steal everyone else's money.
