Comment on Phoenix tattoo finished by KateBloomfield

All things considered, the phoenix sketch you used is a fairly archetypical depiction of a phoenix - fire and flames, rising up with an open beak - and it doesn't surprise me at all that people have seen similar things in other tattoo shops.

Also, my experience has demonstrated to me that tattoo artists live by a different code of conduct from artists involved in the commercial art industry. As far as I've ever seen, they don't care if an image is copyright or trademark protected - they see it, they like it, and they use it at will. Anything they can pull off the internet is fair game. I gave up trying to fight it and finally decided that if people want to use what they see of my work, I'm going to have to accept it. I just watermark the hell out of my work these days and appreciate it when folks like you are courteous enough to ask permission and then share the results!
