Hey, thanks for the compliment :D I used McCall's 5747. I lengthened it, flared the skirt a bit more, and cut it to give it an empire waist and separate shoulder pieces. I hand-sewed in the piping around the collar, at the empire waist, and on the shoulders, both front and back. I used a stretch knit for the fabric. I hope that helps! If you have any more questions, I'm happy to answer them. Good luck!

Wow, it seems like a lot for a novice seamstress such as myself to take it. :D Did your fabric have any kind of pattern on it, like the movie uniforms? I know they had a delta pattern dye-sublimated into the fabric.

What did you use for boots?
My fabric did not have a pattern. It was actually really cheap fabric knit, $4 a yard, I think. It was good because it had a nice sheen to it but when I was leaning over to put on my boots (just a basic kneehigh black boot, with no heel, that I found at Goodwill), I got a huge run in the back, from the zipper to the side seam. Oh well...But it wasn't too bad. You could leave out the piping (in the movie, it's not piping exactly) and just use seams. If you'd like me to send you larger pictures so you can see the details more clearly, just let me know :)
