I really like this. I now feel like my small random sketches can turn into something so beautiful. It's so amazing to see that you started out with just flat colors and simple shading here and there, and then turned into a gorgeous detailed work of art.

A picture has to start somewhere. I suppose a sketch is an easier place than some. 
And I guess I should explain. I didn't wind up using the flat colors. At that point I realized that I had forgotten to take into account the character's markings when I was blocking everything in, so I eye-dropped colors from the ref sheets to see which character to put where. Then I started over on another layer, painting in colors that I thought matched the markings and the lighting of the scene. That was the hardest part, because of my mistake. XD

Ah, I see. Haha, well it turned out beautifully all the same! Especially, the lighting. I always find that's the hardest thing to do.
