I'm afraid to use mine because I might treat it like my oil pastels and they're kind of expensive and thin XP

Not all of them. The ones I have are expensive, but they're nice and thick. It simply depends on where you look for them. ^^

I love soft pastels now I realize I can do a water color effect by smudging it!!!
