Hi John
Actually looking back through my gallery I see there are some semi HDR shots. I say semi because generally if I apply any HDR effect I duplicate the layer, apply the HDR and then lower the opacity to what I want so it isn't quite so obviously or over done.
I also hate what HDR does to sky's ( just a personnel thing ) so after I have done the HDR I erase the sky so the original from the underneath layer shows through.
The boat scene isn't HDR. I work on a number of layers doing my own thing. I dont know of a tutorial that will tell you it. It isn't difficult, just took me a while to develop my own way of doing things.
I kept seeing images and thinking they must be bloody lucky to always be some where when everything is just soooooo *********** perfect or it is post work.
I shoot in RAW because I will some times do two conversions of the same image, one for the sky amd one for the forground.
I can let you know my methods. I use CS4....but you can do this in virtually any Photoshop programme and also I think Corel etc....what programme are you using
You need to be able to use layers and maybe masks or if not learn them.
Let me know.
