You're welcome -- you definitely shouldn't have hesitated, these two are brilliant! And it's always nice to have variety. I've never tried to convert my photographs to black and white; it sounds tricky to get it right, and I can believe that. I would like to try black and white photography, though. Just need to get hold of film. But pictures like this inspire me to give it a a go (:

I've considered using film, but my interests are more in the realm of Holgas and Polaroids than black and white photography. I imagine that film photography is very expensive, isn't it?

It is possible to set my Canon to record in b/w, and then there's the issue of recording a RAW image instead of a JPEG. I've haven't really tried either of these routes, and need to quit being lazy :D

I use a Lubitel, which is something between a Holga and a "serious" film camera... Anyone with a Holga says it's too complicated and anyone with a posh camera says it's just a toy! I like it, but you're right, it is fairly expensive. All that means I can't take nearly so many photographs (I could count how many I've ever taken, if you wanted!). I just prefer the reality of a negative, the simplicity of the mechanism and the (often pleasant) surprises that you get from shooting and not seeing the result 'til long after. Each to their own! (And I would love to play around with polaroids some day, if and when I can get my hand on a good polaroid camera.)
