Seriously, don't worry about it xD We're not really arguing, we're more . . . well, I don't know what we're doing, but I'm enjoying it =P

Oh, I agree entirely. I wasn't trying to say that they don't have to put some effort into keeping their butts off the ground x3 If I were to divide this creature into an upper half and a lower half, I wouldn't cut it off at the joint of the wing, but rather, right behind where the wing connects to the body. What I was trying to explain with the right-triangle analogy is that it's not just the shoulder joint that the whole body is balanced and supported on, it's also the triangular shape of muscle within the wing itself. So, rather than just holding up that pole on one end, you'd more be holding it up by the point of a triangle that runs along most of the front half of the pole, which makes for a much easier object to balance.

And these guys aren't grossly huge (compared to most other flying fantasy creatures, that is); if a 6' man were to stand next to this one, the top of his head would clear the lowest point of its back.

Tossing ideas around?

That does make more sense; I'm looking more at the feathers of the thing, and randomly guessing that the wing finishes connecting to the body where the small, scale like feathers stop. Which still seams small, but then you do have a lot more muscle, ribcage and internal organs at the end. Which means you're right.

So, the size some horses can get, I'm thinking? That's not too big.

Yeah, I think I said earlier that I should have drawn that part bigger x3 Ahhh, I want to a pic of one of these guys flying now.
