I also think you are right about signing your name breaks up the photo. I think signatures distract the eye. We're so used to reading everything, our brain seems to automatically want to read more than just enjoy what it sees.
Yeah but it's too bad people steal my photos and pretend they are the makers... These things make me think about putting a copyright on the photo or not...
