wao, we're like twins or something, I've just restarted reading D.gray-man (my friend graciously donated volumes 1 & 2 to me) because I've been trying to get over how bad the recent chapters have been. I think my obsession with Allen was greater than my obsession with Gokudera at one point; not hard to do considering how D.gray-man had and auspicious start and Reborn! has the... daily life arc.

yeah, and the fact that D.Gray-man is published only once every 2 months or some is getting annoying :s I haven't been able to really get back into it... Although I am quite excited to read the whole Kanda story 
Every two months? I thought it was every month (It's in Jump SQ, right?) Maybe, Hoshinosensei couldn't make the deadline. Gah, at least it comes out faster than Gintama. ;_;

Gintama has a rough start, the first chapter leaves a very bad impression. And due to the fact it's a gag manga, the quality of translation depends on the skill of the translator, the scanlations on onemanga are rarely funny. I fell in love with it after I randomly picked up volume two at Barnes & Nobles.
The jokes usually go something like this:
Okita: Die Hijikata
Hijikata: Die Okita
Okita: Die Okita... whoops, messed up... I mean, die Hijikata
D.gray-man has been lame ever since the end of the ark arc, I'll be waiting for the day she gets her inspiration back.

Anyways, hell yeah, D.gray-man and Reborn! are both written by female mangaka, thus the girls are less than competent (Kyoko/Lenalee has useless heroine syndrome) and the plot reeks of yaoi. I think it was confirmed that Hoshino is confirmed to be female when she did a signing in Germany.
