Be careful with misting the eggs-never mist them directly. I never mist mine unless the vermiculite feels dry to the touch. To test the perlite, just squeeze a small piece with your fingers. If it feels a little moist then it's fine for the eggs. Misting too much can drown the babies. Both perlite and vermiculite holds moisture amazingly well and rarely needs to be sprayed.
