No relatability? That's a pretty closed-minded thing to say. I, for one, would DEFINITELY see a movie with this creature as the hero, and I'm sure there are plenty of other people who also would. It's happened before; the Prawns in District 9 were essentially 6-foot-tall lobsters, WALL-E made us empathize with a sentient trash compactor, and 2001: A Space Odyssey didn't even show the aliens.
