hehe.. we have to look upon our crappy weather in a positive way, us living in northern parts of europe..
the more you go to the north.. the more productive we get. we also get more insane, and have a higher suicide rate... talking about it.. sitting here at work, looking out of my window.. blah... I'm glad at least my work is semi creative... :P

trust me.. I was working on a EU project at a television station in Barcelona.. man.. they are the slowest people you could ever imagine.. and they are fast in the catalonian part of Spain, in comparison to the rest of Spain.. but they have a lot of life quality we don't have in northern parts of Europe..
Exhale-NL's avatar
should that be the reason then? They work slow because of the good weather? hmm lol

it might sound kind of stupid, but think of it, how many things are guided by the weather..
Take for an example here in Denmark.. and I know thins counts for most places in norther Europe.. we care for our nest.. our house or apartment. Because the weather generally is pretty fucking shitty, we need to find a place where we can seek refuge, right.. so we basically spend a lot of time indoor. Most of the year it is to crappy for social activity outside, so again.. we stay indoor.

Then take Spain, Greece, Italy or some of the other countries in southern Europe. A majority of the year, weather is quite good. It gets to warm to sit inside.. so people gets outside, and as a result of that, they easily get very social. Also.. good weather makes people more happy, so they are generally more relaxed and happy cultures than us in the north..

But.. to much socialisation gets disturbing towards the job, unless it is a job you really like.. so they are generally very bad at working, because they have a culture for relaxation..

Go to Andalusia if you doubt my theories.. the most warmest parts of Spain, and people are really freaking relaxed. This counts mostly for european culture.. my experience is that arab cultures are different on these terms.. go to Morocco, and the activity level is way higher.. than the regions near to them in Spain..

As I see it, everything comes with advantages as well as disadvantages..
we have our stuff in the north, and they have theirs in the south..
would be boring to go visit another part of the world, if people where 100% similar..

I never even thought about it that way... Your words make sense to me tho. And you're even more right that the world would be boring if every country was the same. I love traveling (especially to italy and those places :P )... Kinda weird that all the northern people want to go to those hot places while those Italians and Greeks stay in their homeland... I just don't understand them... Honestly. :P

yeah.. I noticed.. If you meet people from north europe in another country, they can't talk about anything except from how lovely it is to get away from their country, and people from south talks about how much they miss their homeland. Though the best thing about Scandinavia is the girls..
