Italian food is good, but don't fall for the fancy nature; they probably sell crap too. everywhere there's good and bad food. But I admit Italy has some of the better ones :)

the japanese are no doubt the masters of seafood. I don't share their love for fish, but learned to appreciate a part of it.
everyone their own fancies

You've intrigued me. I want to try bad Italian food for the hell of it now.

And Filipinos love their rice.:)

haha, I like your adventure spirit. when visiting Italy on a school trip we ate in a large restaurant ( more like a kitchen ) for schools. I don't know the word in English for that kind of restaurant, but where you get the kind of awful overcooked non-tasty cardboard food. Luckily during the day I got to taste the wonderful Italian food ( and devoured loads ) so the contrast in the evening was even bigger.

ow yeah, some good rice is always nice. if you wanna go into stereotypes here :)

You mean a cafeteria? Those are notoriously bad places to eat, with very very few exceptions. Most of the food is made in large batches and is pre-prepared, which really takes away the flavor and nutrition. Now, better food in the evening...much lovelier!

Which reminds me, I had some undercooked rice for lunch today. My friend Armando said that was how it was supposed to taste since it was brown rice, and I told him (having eaten rice all my life) "Don't you think that a Filipina would know what good and bad rice tastes like?"

ah, of course, a cafeteria, thank you !

undercooked rice is a no go, even this Belgian laddy knows that ! :D overcooked is still ok for me, it gets all mashy, but I don't mind. I can tell you all about good waffles, fries, beer and chocolate too ^_^

Please do! I love all those things, especially chocolate, and now I'm tempted to fly over to Antwerp.

blast, now I don't know what to say about it :D, except for that we really do have really good versions ( if not the best ) of those things.
Belgian Waffles in the US really don't taste like Belgian waffles in Belgium :). completely different way of making them here. you have a very sweet version that is all soft ( and you can put chocolate or fruit on it ), but the other Brussels version is my favourite. It's light, large and very crispy and you put cream on it. wooah !
chocolate is just way cheaper and better. and fries too. and for beer: just an endless list of goodies.
there ya go !

Whoa, I've ever had crispy waffles before, let alone with cream on top! Food rocks!:)
