I have been so bad at responding to comments. I need to get my butt in gear and just get to it. Things here are slowing down a bit, but it may be summertime before I get the chance to really get my dA hat back on.

Your welcome as always!!!

I have 7 grandchildren so far... 4 of them are from the children of my husband's 1st marriage.

When we got married he had 2 children a son & daughter and one grandchild who was 2 at the time. They range from 22 to 16 years old now.

The 2 children I have from my 1st marriage are a son 32 & daughter 37 and they each are married and each of them have inherited children from their spouses 1st marriages so that gave me 3 more..2 soon to be 13 year old girls and a boy soon to be 17. So I have been blessed.

I was starting to think that my son & daughter would not be having children of their own so I just thought...hey God gave me all of these wonderful grandchildren..they all love me as a grandma!! How wonderful!

Then in August my son came over with his wife to announce they were pregnant! Surprise!!! My daughter had been trying for 4 years and so I was worried what she's feel like that her brother was having a child. Two weeks later my daughter and husband stopped in to blow me away with the news that they were pregnant too! So as I said they are 3 weeks apart in due dates!

I teased for years that just watch..when & if they had children they would both have them at the same time...and you see how that has gone.!! :)

Another really nice thing is that I have never lived in the same town with any of my grandkids from babyhood on. They either lived away and we visit several times a year or they came into the picture as older children through marriages of my kids.

These two on the way will be in the same town as I live in and they live only around the corner basically!! My son is having a boy and my daughter is having a girl so I am very blessed to have one of each!!

My husband is retiring at the same time...hence big changes all around hence distractions in a major way and although all wonderful things my creative flow has been on a roller coaster ride and not responding well!

So ..sorry for the long-winded reply. But I guess a grandma has to brag !!:)!

Thanks for asking!
Do you have grandchildren Peggi?

I LOVE long-winded replies. That's how I get to know people. What wonderful news about the 2 new grandchildren on the way! Now you will have ample opportunity to spoil them rotten. (That's what grandparents are for, right?)

No, I don't have grandkids. I didn't have any children. I married rather late in life and children just weren't an option. But, I have a terrific dog and a apathetic cat (aren't they all?) I do have a niece and a nephew and they both have kids, all girls!! So I have 5 grandnieces (is that what they would be called?) I don't get to see them very much. As a matter of fact, I've never seen 3 of the 5. One family lives in Dallas, the other close to Washington DC, so there's little chance to get together. Maybe one year when I visit my Mom, my brother and his wife in Houston at Christmas, I'll get to see the kids, if they come down too.

Well I know from experience that your pets are you children !!!!! I have a kitty that is 20 years old..I don't know how much longer I will get to have her but she is tied to my heartstrings as firmly as any of my kids or grandkids! I keep wishing God would change the rules and let our furry family members live as long as we do if they have a good home. But I know it's not to be. Have to wait til we get to the other side I guess.

I was almost 40 when I got married the 2nd time. Later life marriages can be very nice. By then we know who we are much better and it helps a lot when choosing a mate! Unlike you I do not have even 1 niece or nephew. I have one brother and one sister and neither of them are married or have children. They also live far away from me but i usually get to see them once a year...sometimes twice. On lives in Maine and one in Montana...here I am in the middle in Wisconsin!

I guess God gives us all someone to love even if it is our precious pets!

You are lucky to still have your Mom..both my parents and my husband's have passed away. I miss them all.

Thanks for the return... nice and long comment! It "is" a great way to get to know someone better!
