Yes she did give credit but, the Japanese artist says right on her front page to not "reproduce, copy, sell and/or manipulate". She say's it's prohibited by her and the image is copyrighted under her name. If she states this on her front page and did not give permission to the artist to upload, this artist technically does not have the rights to upload this and copyright it under her own name. I did send an e-mail to the original Japanese artist of this image on Pixiv to see if she finds this alright. I know 10-Rankai [link] told me she does not like the wallpapers and manipulations of her works on Deviant Art. She's fought against so many artists on Deviant Art that she gave up because she doesn't have time. B Plus and Piero also gave up on Deviant Artists uploading their works and refuse to join this site.
Believe it or not, these Japanese artist's do get upset when people use their images without permission before hand. I monitor the gallery for these Japanese artists works being uploaded to check for stolen or copyright en-fragment images and if I don't know if the artist has permission, I find them, send them a message and ask. More times than not, the artist said they didn't give permission and asks for the art to be taken down. I even contact artists of images that are not on DA but are American as well.
Its just out of respect that one would ask the original artist permission before using and uploading. If this Japanese artist sends me a message back saying she wants this down, I will notify this artist first and if she refuses to take down the work, I will help the Japanese artist write an e-mail to Deviant Art to take the image down. I helped Japense Naruto fan artists with this before.
