I had two goes at photographing it and got fogged / rained out both times... Typical Skye weather when I was there.

I must just be lucky, i've been to Skye 3 times and only seen bad weather once.:)

Actually the weather was not too bad; mostly very windy. We were staying up near Uig and did two trips along the east coast road heading past Storr, and the first time it was raining, the second time it started rainy after we hiked up closer to the rock.

Ahh yes, but the bad weather surely makes for a more atmospheric experience.:)

If you are there to see the fog, yes. If you are there to see the Old Man of Storr, perhaps not...
