This one was a commission, but something similar would typically run around $1400 to $1600 depending on materials and design requested. Have a limited edition run coming out sometime next year of a similar sword that's going to be priced at $1500, I think.

Worth every penny in my opinion...what type of steel do you use? Could this be made in L6 Bainite? This has the combined features of a sabre and a katana...when I saw in LOTR I was like hell yes!

We use a lot of different steels. 1084, 1095, 5160H, W2 a couple times in the past, different damascus/pattern-welded mixes. We can work L6 too, but we'd have to get a blade tested to have it certified as having bainite content.

From what I understand Bainite is very difficult to achieve on a regular basis. There have been some pattern welded Viking style swords displayed here on DA recently that are absolutely gorgeous...so awesome to see so many smiths turning out these beautiful edged pieces of art
