Well I've done both (though not at the same time at first, I've watched the anime first until I ran headfirst into the filler and started getting all confused, which thus I picked up on the manga to get the facts straight and recognize which is filler and which is not, in the anime. Aside from that, the manga is waaaaaaaaay ahead of the anime), but I can give you the list of filler episodes if you want so you can skip over them when you reach to that point:-
*64 - 109
*168 - 189
*230 - 265
Currently there's 276 episodes (and ongoing), and 407 manga chapters (and ongoing).
