Hmm.. No I didn't. I laid my hand on the fabrics after I drew the patter on it and made sure that my hand would fit before I cut it 
You see, the download pattern I used was a bit too small, that's why I had to make my own pattern so it would fit my hand

so...you simply made sure it was a bit larger than your hand so it'd fit when you cut it? hmmm...I'll try that.
I made it about 1½cm too big, because I could always make it fit my hand when I sew it
