is that really your answer? Sex Sells? Seriously? Thats not what arts about and I'm sure any artist who actually works at being a good artist will tell you so. : /
Sex sells in the porn industry, an industry where its understandable for it to sell. Not being all "this is totally artistic." Not to get page views or viewers in general.
There is a fine line between artistic nudity and yes, sometimes it does have arousal accompanying it. Or maybe a story is going on in the image that makes it more than just a 'jerk off' shot.

Any photo that people will jerk off to is pretty much a sexy photo which is linked to sex, because it is sexy. True, my modeling starts off as art, I enjoy it and it is a passion, but the moment the photographer, or I sign it over to a website and it is posted in such a context, it is sold for sex. Even when I post it on here, or tumblr, some one will find it and find some reason to fap to it.
I have been through this, and have done art performances where I highlight the actual act of modeling through art in an art context. But going to the other extreme is just as important to me in exploring all this... stuff... as well!
