Eh. No reason in particular. This version kinda screams, "I'm about to die, I might as well have fun doing it." Because the thing with the Doctor is that while how he/she looks might not necessarily be how he/she feels, the looks DO have a basis in how he/she feels. And it's usually a facade to hide the truth. The Eleventh Doctor, for instance, has many boyish mannerisms, enjoys games and toys, and has everything in his TARDIS look new to perhaps hide the fact that he constantly, CONSTANTLY feels old and is well aware of how old he really is. Your Doctor appears to be trying to fit as much experience into her last years as she can, with a new chic look and a sleek K-9 to hide just how run-down she feels.
