Thank you! I love the combination of blues and browns so this one was a real treat to paint. It is typical to go with brown and yellow shades when doing cowboy art but the blue really adds a lot of character and brings the focus to the boots. I'm really not a big fan of still life art; that is unless is speaks to the viewer. I love the art of telling a story with the elements of these paintings. I'm doing a roughneck next so it should be fun.

I feel a bit guilty enjoying the creation of these paintings since the subject matter is rather sad but the families of the people I am paying tribute to really love the paintings so I suppose it's okay :)

Yea, but there's gotta be some motivation to draw it all so it's okay. I just realized you might wanna add an "e" to the end of "the" on the title.

But yeas, blue and brown is my absolute favorite color combination. Even more so if there's gold and/or white. I've never really gotten into still life art much but this series really speaks. I'm still more in to drawing animals and such, there's something amazing about being able to portray the light of life through a couple simple shines in the eyes :aww:

LOL. That's funny. I guess he's the "TH" cowboy ;)

I totally agree with you regarding animal art. It really does take just a simple specular highlight on the eyes to make them come to life. I have many more wildlife paintings to do for my 'Majestic' book so I'll be uploading some here soon. So much work to do!

I can't wait for them ^^ I really look forward to seeing them because my main learning technique for my art is extreme observation. So I learn about a lot of tiny details to remember to include the next time I draw something that needs it just by seeing them used somewhere. Plus all of the pictures are just really amazing to see :)

That is a good practice. When I'm exploring new areas of art I observe existing work and decompile how it was created or at least how I would create it. From there I master a technique and then develop my own style to try and make my work unique. It's a lot fo fun :)

Thanks again. I promise more animals are on their way ;)
