I HAVE NO IDEA WHY. heheheh. I have friends who joined around the same time as me who have many thousands of pageviews. I think it's been a combination of a lot of things. I haven't commented a lot on people's art because until recently, I've been on a sub-56K modem. I don't CG stuff (don't know how and don't own the software to learn), and a lot of people seem not to consider a piece "finished" if it's not computer colored. I'm not a superfly traditional artist, nor do my pieces tend to the darker side (I'm not a very "artsy" artist), nor do I have much fan art of popular anime series. Also, since people usually browse using the thumbnail view, I think my stuff loses out to things that at least at that size look more interesting.
Then again, I've noticed that any attempt to analyze the dA community logically ends in failure.
Hope they make new action figures too, or have they does anyone know???

I don't at all like knowing what people say of me behind my back. It makes me far too conceited.
Liono! Ah... Thundercats was such a great cartoon.
I just love the pose... and the perspective... or uh.. foreshortening... whatever (I am sadly lacking art lingo). And the coloring is fantastic.
Man. I can't believe you don't have more pageviews. What do you do? Submit art when no one's online? Maybe you just don't pimp yourself out enough. Not that I have many suggestions there... I just join a buttload of clubs and comment like mad on people's piccies and devwatch and try to get people to look at my art that way... Uh... not that that's what I'm doing now... I mean... you're already devwatching me (oh and thank you by the way). I'm just doing this because it seems wrong that someone as talented as you only has about 50 or 60 more pageviews than me.

I know what you mean about that whole CG thing. My roomie and best friend :biancamarou: (who I consider the best artist I know... at least personally) doesn't CG either and she loses a lot of business because of it (she is a professional artist who often sells her work at anime conventions) despite the fact that she is friggin awesome with markers and colored pencils. Of course, she'd like to start CGing her pics... but Wacom tablets and computer programs are so damned expensive. *sigh*
I think people are just CG crazed. I mean... they'd sooner look at a pic that was CGed than a sketch or even a colored pencil pic that has much much better line art. I don't understand it.
Anyway, that may be an unfair assessment of the DA community... and/or a sweeping generalization. But it still urkes me that everyone seems to be all, "Ohh... SHINY!" and artist's like you and bianca don't get the recognition (or the pageviews) you deserve just cause you're mommy isn't rich and can't afford to buy you the best computer programs...
This is such a kick ass pic! I love the perspective, and the muscle structure of Lion-o is so perfect! His expression is catlike, which is very appropriate I love it!
First off, everyone here at deviantART would like to say THANK YOU!!! We have received an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm for the launch of version 6 and believe that this has been our best-received launch to date.
You might even be one hell of a profesional, but if you don't SHOW it and PROVE it, how will everyone know? These facts are important not only when you are looking for a job, but in any situation when you wish to showcase your work. I decided to share a few guidelines that might help you give the best of yourself and help you be a better profesional.

`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
