Cool! I'm glad people are finding it interesting. It's obviously not canon at all - this is an AU, and I've come up with a lot of ideas to make Smellerbee her own full character here. In a way she's kind of serving as an outlet for making as 'original' a main character as this story will have. I needed some reason that she would get pulled into befriending the group, and this association seemed to make the most sense.

The contrast between Katara and Jane also serves as a great foil to play with - one that I myself have experienced from Katara's perspective multiple times over the past few years, for better and worse.
