thank you for sharing your process. the end steps help out so much where i am with faces.

i always feel i'm almost there, but when i look at my finished piece there's always something missing. :O_o: if you have a few spare minutes perhaps you could offer me a pointer or two .. hundred? :P

I'm so sorry I didn't receive this comment in my message center. The best thing for anyone is to really learn the basics and fundamentals of art before they try to master digital painting. For me, this meant picking up a pencil and paper and drawing boxes and cones before I moved on to portraiture. Once I felt comfortable with value, light, construction, proportions, and then color, I moved to digital painting. Digital painting is merely a medium and no program can make up for what you lack.

It's a time consuming process as I got a degree in art but it was well worth it in the end.
