Thanks Shep! I post only my best shots on deviantart. In november, i broke my personal record for shots taken with over 3,000 photos. Out of that 3,000 I end up posting just a handful. So it's a numbers game. But there's also a sensation for what's a good shot... in terms of lighting, shadows, composition. One thing I learned is to look at how light reflects in the sidewalk. Often times, there's alot of great tonality and lighting that sidewalks get from light.

3,000?! That's probably more than I would take in a couple decades...
I never thought much about sidewalks...I usually just think of them as grey slabs of concrete that people step on...but photographers like you must find (and know) about things normal people or artists (I guess everyone could be if they really set their mind to it) don't really care to think about. While photographers find beauty in their world, their minds, inspiration, emotions, (and God) artists rely on other artists for the most part? Oh, wow, that was sappy and didn't relate to what you said at all...:D

But, still, i'll keep that in mind! :)
