A couple of years ago, Sir Terry was signing books here in Vienna, but at that time I had just started work at a new place and my boss made me stay and do over-hours on exactly the evening of the signing! T___T
A friend of mine got my copy of "Thud!" signed and took photos, but I'm still quite heartbroken over it, because now Pratchett has Alzheimer's it's very unlikely he'll have many more public appearances, so I most probably missed the only chance I'd ever get to see him in person that day...
