I prefer this composition to the next one of a year later. The second one has too many vertical lines for the image whereas the first one captures just your model without the background as a distraction but as a compliment to an excellent model.
I think both are good - Evolving in photography doesn't necessarily mean that you make/take better photos - it might also mean a sedimentation of your style.
