So did I. Where are you from? I grew up in Port Colborne before moving out to Ajax.

I was just a little bit away in Welland Junction or Dain City as it used to be called.I lived there for about seven years when i was a young boy.A wonderful place for a young lad who loved nature. That end of the Lake has some beautiful things to see.How large is Port Colborne now? When I was a kid it was about 1800 or 2200 people. Not very large. With the Nickel Works closing I was wondering how things are now.

With John Deere, GM, and the Nickle plant all closed or cut back now, that area seems to have gone for a slide. I think the population of Port Colborne is around 18,000 to 19,000. It's been around there for ever.

I still go back once a year, in the summer for the Canal Days Festival. Great fireworks and car show, perfect for taking the family.

Yeah!I forgot about John Deere. That pumped some serous money into the local economy.I haven't been back in a while.I should bring my camera and go back for a visit.

You could spend hours just shooting along the canal. With the bridges, boats, train tracks and such.
It's funny, i don't have one photo of the canal. All i remember is how much of a pain the ass it was with the bridges being up all the time.I should take my camera too.

It was fun as kid with those bridges though. One of my favourite spots was just before entering the city. The boat wrecking area.Fascinating to watch them dismantle a ship.
