That would make sense. I mean, Red wanted to be the best right? (Then again i think that's Ash's goal) So he had to eliminate whoever defeated him so he would remain undefeated. In fact, come to think of it, what if this all happened before? I mean, have you ever thought about WHY Red is on Mount Silver? Maybe he did something to another trainer who defeated him at the Pokemon League. Like after he lost he reacted violently and proceeded to use his Pokemon to attack the trainer who beat him. At this point Red would be declared a criminal and a murderer so he hid away on Mount Silver where nobody would find him. Though I've never officilly played Gold, Silver or Crystal neither their remakes because they are sooooo pricey, so I wouldn't really know if anybody mentions Red in the games. I mean, you'd think clues would have been left so players can learn about why Red is up there. There have always been hints of more tragic things in Pokemon games. Like how in Heart Gold and Soul Silver after you beat Giovanni in a special event, it's implied he drowns himself as you hear a splash when he exits the cave he was in.
