Yeah totally. But then again those three GUN mecha really stand no chance, having been taken out by Sonic, Shadow and Rouge. If they were up against an actual other mech then they'd probably get cut to ribbons.
But I dunno, maybe the reason they got defeated so easily by the SA2 cast is because they are much bigger and more cumbersome than Sonic, Shadow or Rouge, who are all more maneuverable than they are and can use homing attack or glide attack against them.

That is true. Truthfully, those mechs only really posed an actual threat in Shadow the Hedgehog mainly because you can encounter (improved?) versions of them as enemies in the stage you're in, and even then they mostly don't amount to much. The only GUN mech I've seen that stood a chance was Commander Tower's (that's his given name in the Archie comics) Diablon, and that wasn't even complete by the time Shadow would get to it in one of the normal endings.
