Actually I envisioned that the figure was actually lifting up the rising sun into the air more than carrying it on his shoulders. But I see what you see and that could work too. I just wanted to create awareness. You never hear about Japan on the news anymore because it's no longer a bleed story. It's old news, but with this kind of artwork floating around it will remind people that tragedies like this have a story after the fact. There are still people without homes and looking for their loved ones. It's just a shame that they have an expiration date. This was created to say that it doesn't. Thanks, darlin. ;)

Ah I didn't mean the figure literally carrying it on its shoulders but more that sort of metaphorical meaning. Sorry. haha. But yeah, that's the thing, despite all possibilities of altering the piece, its the message and purpose that counts. You nailed it :) And I know! Here in sleepy old Western Australia the news has gone quiet on what's happening in Japan with the relief efforts. Like the news stations are just putting it out of mind and that's really shameful. They have no problem following up on how the people of Christchurch, New Zealand are coping almost a year after. -shakes head- The media certainly has an expiration date on what's considered "important news"
No problem my friend ;)

No don't worry. I understood the metaphor.

There's a saying out here in the States that if it bleeds it leads. Sheesh.
