It's a captain's chest? I actually sleep on one from time to time... I somehow got it into my mind they were huge! Shame about the lock or it would double nicely as a book stand.

Must be different kinds of 'chests' then. I don't think this would have worked as a book stand, lock or no. There is nothing to hold the pages open and no 'rest' so the book would slide right off.
