They are large sequins, called 'Spangles" -- I had to special order the metalic yellow ones, and then I alternated rows of metalic yellow, and gold. They are glued to the head-pieces, and sewn by hand to the arm and leg pieces.
The other one I saw just used yellow fabric. It was good but the extra money, time and effort you put in makes a huge difference
Well, thank you ^_^ This costume is very dear to me -- at the time I made this, very few other people had tried it, and not in many years. It also got me a trip to Japan! I'm glad you like it <3 all that glueing and sewing took a very.. very long time @____@
