lol, drones being reactive armor xD That does actually make a lot of sense though, visibility, extra armor and drone weapons.
I still think it'd make sense to have some sort of top mounted cannon / ATGM deal, though I admit it wouldn't look as sleek.

The cupolas definitely support expandability. i.e You could just bolt on a ready-made cupola + gun mount ring + gun system + remote operation rig setup (if need be).
