Yeah. I've done some fun things. Though using film is expensive! Mostly when you do prints, but it still racks up anyway.

I'm never sure what to photograph!

Well the lenses cost about $40 each I think for my camera... So it's not bad. Still I'd like other lenses.

How expensive is it? I wouldn't know.
This is true. I've heard such even from the printmaking program.

You should just be one of those random photographers....who photograph the most random, obscure things..but makes them look interesting to look at.

Better than a couple hundred, that's for sure.
What's your favorite lens?

A roll of film is usually between 3 and 12 dollars. :) It can hold up to 16 pictures if you're doing medium format. Processing (development) generally costs 3 dollars, which is not bad. That can sometimes include scanning. Prints cost up to 18 dollars per roll. Prints are the expensive part of doing film. If you can avoid them you're probably better off. Really I need to get a scanner that is made to scan negatives.

I agree. Lots of fun. I'd also like to photograph skateboarding. I like skateboarding.

Probably either the wide angle or the close up. I think I like the close up best, but you can only use it for close ups. Whereas the wide angle can make a landscape seem big.

I really want to get some extra large prints made, that would be cool. But right now I'm sort of in limbo (staying at some friends) and have no place for anything.

That's not bad at all. Hmm, depends on what type of job I'll have in Philly, it'll definitely vary on whether or not I'd be able to afford it all.'
If I didn't leave CUAA, I could have gone to my friend Sam's house to make film and all...would have been awesome...haha.

Oh, me too. I used to skateboard a long time ago...made my own deck in wood shop and learned a lot down in Hilton Head Island, SC at a skate park my friend had taken me to.

Agreed. I like close up, better.

Aww, well, I'll be praying for you on that situation! Good luck with everything. Making some large prints would be great. :)

Ah cool. I'll be going through PA soon, though unfortunately not Philly.

:) Cool. I sorta made three of my own decks. One was from plywood, and the other two were pre-molded (still playwood but with concave and a nose and tail) and they were more of a standard shape. I can do a couple tricks but it's mostly just to relax and keep healthy nowadays. Though I still try to see how far I can go and try to get techy with tricks anyways.

:) Thanks!

That's cool! Whereabouts?
Yes, very unfortunate.

That's spiffy. ^^ Pretty much what I kept doing, do it for fun and to keep in shape. Though, I haven't done it in so long...I'll probably pick up back on it again one day.
You should! Then when you become pro I can be like, "Hey! I know him!" Lol. xD But seriously, the more passion you have for boarding, the more you should gain skill and knowledge from it.

Ah, it was Scranton area. I was born in Scranton. I think I totally missed this when I was in PA anyway though...

Yeah. I love skating. It's great exercise too.
I think, yes. I really love it. Especially how intense you can get when boarding. It might be surprising to some how much strength it takes to skate. I've been trying to do a double-shuvit for a while now. (Like a normal shuvit but the board spins a whole 360 before you land on it.) I can almost do it, except landing properly afterwards. Usually only one foot lands on it, causing the board to shoot up. The amount of force I put into the spin usually means that I'll get hit hard enough that I'm limping and decide not to try again for a while. :D I am getting closer though. Recently I purchased 20 pounds weights that go around my wrists and ankles, which makes skating really fun. Although unfortunately they're actually too big even for my ankles. I took out one weight each so they each weight about 17 or 18 pounds now, and it does fit better, but still doesn't fit my wrists properly.

One of these days I'll have to show you my skateboarding so you can laugh. Though honestly, I think I'm good enough that I could've been pro in the 80s. Sadly now people have slightly different expectations. :(

Oh, Scranton. That's on the eastern side of the state. I live in the western side. XD

It most certainly is! I feel you need to definitely be good about taking pain because falling happens a lot in the learning process. Though, I also feel that skating is an on going learning process because you're constantly striving to improve your skills as a skater.

Oh! Dude! I can do that. It had taken me forever to accomplish it.
My advice, make sure your weight is really balanced when landing and try to have your feet go down at the same time to land, and -if you do- then pump.
That's how I really got it down, along with tons of practice..of course.
XD

.....How does...that even help? I mean thinking about in a physics sort of way..I see how, but then again, it boggles my mind.
I feel like...I never really had a problem with balance and all because I'm very technical and a light weight...
meh.

If you feel the weights are helping in some sort of shape and form, then that's good. I wouldn't recommend it for a lot of tricks because you can really hurt yourself straining muscles or if you land the wrong way....a broken or fractured bone in a way could definitely occur.

Yes. Please do. I enjoy a good laugh. XD
That's very true. Skateboarding in perspective has changed drastically...which is unfortunate. D:
