I really like this. I don't know if it's the subtle play on words (using a black man with regards to a song called "Blackbird") or just the overall feel, but this just works. It's not a scene, but it still tells a story.
I also dig how you used those wings at his head instead of on his back like most people would. Very cool.

Blackbird is actually a metaphor for Black women...I just wanted to go a different direction with it, more of the way I "see" the words.
