so basicaly you poke the wool around, because it could break the needle right?
It's just that if you have the wire inside you should poke a bit more carefully - so if you suddenly hit the wire the needle doesn't break. But actually the wire is relatively thin and the wool layer is thick - so such things doesn't occur often)
