You're the first of the people I watch to write about it... Started to think I'd lost my marbles. Anyway, I heard it around 9AM in my time zone, which was about 2 hours after the 8.9 quake. My day hasn't been very productive, let me tell you that. Glued to CNN too.

I have an idea that the Japanese are a tough, resilient type of folk, but this is a lot to handle at once. My *fingers crossed* thought right now is that they get that nuclear plant under control soon...

It is something beyond overwhelming no matter how resilient a people they are. That said, they are resilient and resourceful and will rebuild. Still this is an unseen level of tragedy and it will be felt for some time in their culture/economy and globally.

Too many recent "disasters" :( Nature is being a total ass.
