I force myself to make extra bits and spares now.....if somethings
going to go wrong last minute...it usually does!

Spares are a decorators must....and filler flowers are a God send...you can never have enough!!(mind you I'm not yet a good flower maker yet)..

Same here.....can just about get a limp looking rose to look ok in a cluster of them!

I have so many rejects!!!....the trouble is my teacher is an award winning flower maker....she makes the most perfect flowers...she has about 30 years advance on me. She is wonderful and patient but the penny hasn't quite dropped for me yet....I'll keep persisting though.

:) That's the spirit!....you'll get there in the end, and all of a sudden, you'll have a perfect flower!
I'm looking forward to that time myself :)..... how does she do hers? I use a tip from one of my books to use clingfilm and press balls of fondant.

My teacher uses cutters....from the tiniest to the largest petals....making and drying a rose cone then attaching the petals which have been frilled, veined (sometimes) and placed in rows around the cone....breathtaking when you see her do it.

Yea....sounds a bit more complicated than my 'squish a bit of fondant' technique :giggle:
