Oh it's real! It's made of PVC pipe and an orange sheer fabric. It's not a 100% accurate because the tip of the triangle should be pointing down, as in the anime. The way it is, is the only way it could stand up is on a long edge. That thing was a beast to work with. The photoshoppng I did was to clone out the fabric seams and blur the fabric so it looks more like a light source.
