I really love the shading in this piece! The play of light and dark looks really flawless, and I like how you've even got almost purple tones in the shading on the orange and yellow - it makes the layers pop that much better. Overall, very nicely done!

If you're looking to get a more "depressing" color scheme with warm colors, I might suggest staying away from pinks? Reds, oranges, and a little yellow might work better, as pink tends to look naturally cheery.

Thank you!! And thanks for the suggestion. I think the colors got screwed up in the photograph. IRL the only pink in the piece is in the highlight of the red triangles. Unless you were referring to the highlights...if that's the case, then, then I might be able to fix it? What would happen if I added yellow to the highlights to warm them up...would that work?

Oh, no! I was just misled by the photograph (I thought the whole triangles were pink).
I think the pink highlights look fine! I would leave them as is, since all your highlights look (at least from the photo) kind of cool-toned, so adding a warm tone to the pink highlights might look out of place. This is a lovely piece, I don't think you need to change it at all! cx

Ah, gotcha. On my monitor it looks close to how it looks IRL (I tweaked it a little digitally to get it to look right), but some friends have said the red triangles look pink and the last yellow one looks green on their monitor, so boo for technology not being perfect!! **Kicks technology in the face**
