The contrast is upped already HEAVILY, the original had such a narrow histogram you wouldn't believe it (dynamic range works very different in infrared, it's usually much broader). If I added more contrast now, the details would start clipping which I always try to avoid.
As for the crop, I tend to keep the 2:3 frames as close as possible for printing convenience. The customers may crop it physically anytime they like.
