After Assassins Creed 3 was out, Ubisoft has confirmed that they were not related. One side of the Desmond's family can be from Ezio's bloodline while the other side can be Altair's. Also tone down the cursing, there's really no need for that.

But then how and Why the heck does EZIO SEE ALTIAR in the beginin of Revelations?!? I'm SO confused or was that due to the animus and Desmond being out of whack? but they look so similar too....

Yeah I'm still confused about the whole thing. It feels like Ubiosoft sorta changed plans from how the story was going. I guess we just have to go with the flow for now. Thanks for being chill during the conversation it was nice talking to you 
They explained that anyone, regardless of family history, can use eagle vision. Explained in Assassins Creed 4 which is the reason that Edward Kenway is the first of his family to use it. He was born, being very adept with the ability.
