I'm trying really hard here to see how people could confuse this with EVA units. The only similarities I am seeing are the color red, and maybe the jaw line....maybe.
To me, this is a very bad ass illustration of a robot/dino hybrid. Love the shape, and form of the head. The plating is fantastic! I really like how you've incorporated a scaly look to the armor on the back and neck area.

Actually, quite a bit of similarity with the EVA units in a crouch on first glance. Sorry, but I am not well versed in 'bio-mechanic' units and the many anime out there. Mostly I stick more to Gundam, and also more robotic/humanoid designs.
